Formula 1 unveils 2026 calendar

Formula 1 has revealed the 24-race schedule for the 2026 season, but this comes with some major changes while the Australian Grand Prix retains its spot as the host for the opening round in 2026.

 

The Madrid Grand Prix has been confirmed as the new circuit added to the schedule to host the Spanish Grand Prix as Barcelona stays on for the final year of its F1 contract. The new Madrid Grand Prix, which will be held on 11- 13 September, replaces the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, which has been dropped after five races since returning to the calendar in 2020. 

 

Similar to the case this year and due to the timing of Ramadan, the Bahrain GP will not host in the first round of March While, the Australian Grand Prix holds on 8th March one week earlier than it was held this year, with the Chinese Grand Prix next up after seven days followed by a solo weekend race in Japan slated for 27-29 before the double header of Bahrain-Saudi Arabia in mid-April.

 

Meanwhile, the Canadian GP traditionally held in June has now been brought forward to take place 22-24 May. Thereafter, the Monaco GP will kickoff the races in Europe from the first weekend of June. The British GP remains in its usual slot, and Silverstone comes by July 5th. 

 

The two triple headers in the 2026. Calender are both at the end of the season. The race in Austin, Mexico City, and Sau Paulo runs on three consecutive weekends while Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi form the last tipple header for the 2026 seasons final week.
