Lobi Stars Media Director Banned Indefinitely Over Match-Fixing Allegation
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has handed an indefinite ban to Emmanuel Ujah, Media Director of Lobi Stars, for breaching the NPFL Framework and Rules with an unsubstantiated match-fixing allegation.
Ujah admitted to making the claims in error during a recent interview, acknowledging that he had no evidence to support the serious accusation. He expressed deep regret over his comments, attributing them to emotional impulse rather than factual basis, and pledged to conduct himself more responsibly going forward. As part of the disciplinary measures, Ujah is required to issue a formal written apology and publicly retract the allegations.
The NPFL emphasised that such conduct undermines the integrity of the league and will not be tolerated. While Ujah faces sanctions, the NPFL has recommended that certain concerns he raised during the interview be jointly reviewed by the Lobi Stars management and league authorities for possible further investigation.
The league body reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, fair play, and the protection of its reputation.
