More 2026/27 NPFL games to be broadcast live as league introduces Friday fixtures

More games in the 2026/27 EuroMatchNPFL season will be broadcast live following the league organisers’ decision to reschedule fixtures to accommodate Friday night matches.

The move follows the delivery of another set of state-of-the-art production equipment to broadcast partner Murphy Ben International (MBI), paving the way for the establishment of new regional production centres aimed at easing logistical challenges.

In a memo to EuroMatchNPFL club chairmen and general managers, Chief Operating Officer Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman said the revised fixture schedule was necessary to provide broadcast partners with access to more matchdays, which was not possible under the original schedule.

Beginning with Matchday 8, fans will be able to watch three live matches, with a Friday night fixture in Katsina followed by matches in Kano on Saturday and Sunday, where Ranchers Bees and Barau FC will host visiting opponents.

In the memo dated October 2, 2026, Abdulrahman said the decision followed a series of project meetings with the league’s broadcast partners, Murphy Ben International and AfroSoccer.

“After several meetings with the broadcast partners, Murphy Ben International and AfroSoccer, it was agreed that for fair and balanced coverage, clubs will be grouped in regional clusters to limit the logistics of travelling with fairly big outside broadcast equipment over long distances,” Abdulrahman explained.

“Furthermore, it has been resolved to introduce Friday kickoffs, Friday night matches, early kickoffs on Saturdays and Sundays at applicable venues,” he added.

Meanwhile, MBI Team Lead Olatunji Ayodele announced the company’s acquisition of additional production equipment, including Sony PXW-Z200 cameras and the OSEE GoStream Duet 8 ISO.

According to Ayodele, the Sony PXW-Z200 cameras form part of MBI’s compact digital architecture, designed for speed, flexibility and rapid deployment. The system will enable the production team to capture matches and deliver individual feeds over IP, while the OSEE GoStream Duet 8 ISO provides local switching, monitoring and recording capabilities.

He said the digital approach would significantly reduce the physical footprint traditionally associated with outside-broadcast production.

“Instead of relying on a large OB truck and extensive cabling infrastructure, MBI can deploy a mobile, modular production system that can be transported and configured quickly at different NPFL venues,” Ayodele told NPFL Media.

“The result is a more nimble production model that combines professional camera acquisition, IP-based contribution, local production and resilient internet connectivity—allowing MBI to scale its coverage while responding efficiently to the demands of live football production.”
