Nigerian winger Moses Simon has described reaching 100 appearances for Nigeria as a “great privilege” and a dream come true, while pledging to continue giving his all whenever he is called up.

 The Paris FC winger reached the landmark during Nigeria’s 2-1 victory over Madagascar in Uyo on Friday evening.

 Simon was introduced in the second half at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, replacing former Sevilla striker Akor Adams.

 The winger immediately brought his pace and direct running into the game, taking on Madagascar defenders and creating opportunities for the Super Eagles as Nigeria completed its comeback.

 Speaking at the post-match press conference, Simon thanked the coaches who have trusted him with opportunities to represent Nigeria throughout his international career.

 “Thanks to the coach for the opportunity. Thanks to every coach that gave me the opportunity,” Simon told reporters.

 The 30-year-old admitted that reaching 100 appearances was beyond what he had imagined but said the achievement brought him immense joy.

 “Of course, this gives me joy and it is a great privilege to play for the Super Eagles,” he added.

 Simon also reaffirmed his commitment to the national team, promising to give his best whenever he receives another call-up.

 “It is a dream come true. I never believed I would play 100 games but I believe one thing, whenever I am called up, I will be there to give one hundred percent,” he concluded.

 With the appearance, Simon joined an exclusive group of Nigerian players toq have reached the 100-cap milestone, including Joseph Yobo, Vincent Enyeama, Ahmed Musa and Alex Iwobi.
