Ardova Handball Premier League Phase two set for Lagos showdown

 

 

The second phase of the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League has been scheduled to hold in Lagos from November 25 to December 7, 2025, promising another exciting round of top-tier handball action.

 

According to a statement released by Mrs. Monica Otumala, General Secretary of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN), the competition will take place at two venues, the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute of Sports (NIS) inside the National Stadium, Surulere, and the Rowe Park Sports Centre, Yaba.

 

Teams are expected to arrive in Lagos on Tuesday, November 25, ahead of a crucial technical meeting, with matches scheduled to begin the following day, Wednesday, November 26, and run through December 6. The league champions will be crowned on the final matchday before teams depart on December 7, 2025.

 

Mrs. Otumala urged participating clubs to finalize all necessary preparations, including player registrations, ahead of the tournament.

 

 “The Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) is pleased to inform all stakeholders that the second phase of the 2025 Ardova Handball Premier League will take place in Lagos between 25th November and 7th December. All documentary registration of players must be completed on or before 10th November, 2025,” she stated.

 

The Ardova Handball Premier League, proudly sponsored by Ardova PLC, remains Nigeria’s elite handball competition, showcasing some of the best teams and talents across the country.

 

Following the first phase held in Benin City, Edo State, the Safety Shooters and Safety Babes, both owned by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led the men’s and women’s categories respectively.

 

In the men’s division, Safety Shooters sit atop the table with 28 points and an impressive +91 goal difference, closely followed by COAS Shooters, also on 28 points but with a +50 goal difference. Rima Strikers of Sokoto occupy third place with 25 points, while defending champions Tojemarine HC are fourth with 24 points.

 

The women’s division is once again dominated by Safety Babes, who are unbeaten this season and lead with 21 points. The defending champions, chasing an unprecedented fifth consecutive title, have not lost a match since 2022. Rima Queens trail closely with 19 points, while Plateau Peacocks (15 points), Imo Grasshoppers (14 points), and newcomers Soof Omo Ogiefo HBC (13 points) complete the top five.

 

All matches from the Lagos phase will be streamed live on HFN TV, the Ardova PLC Facebook platform, and the HFN YouTube channel, allowing fans across the country to follow every moment of the action.
