NFF Boss Ibrahim Gusau Named New WAFU B President
President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, has been appointed President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B. The announcement followed the resignation of Ghana FA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku, who stepped down after being elected to the CAF Executive Committee.
WAFU B’s headquarters in Abidjan confirmed Gusau’s elevation, citing strong support from member nations for his leadership and continuity. Gusau previously served as WAFU B’s First Vice President and has led the NFF since September 2022.
Gusau has been President of the NFF since 30th September 2022, and was First Vice President of WAFU B before this fresh elevation.
His appointment comes just hours after Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, clinched bronze at the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations in Egypt, securing a spot at the FIFA U20 World Cup.
