NPFL to honour Daniel Ogunmodede and Anas Yusuf in Abuja

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board has announced plans to celebrate two of last season’s standout performers, Remo Stars head coach Daniel Ogunmodede, and Nasarawa United forward, Anas Yusuf.

Ogunmodede guided Remo Stars to their historic first-ever league title in the 2024/25 campaign, while Anas finished as the league’s top scorer with 18 goals. Both will be honoured at an award ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, September 2, in Abuja.

NPFL Chairman, Gbenga Elegbeleye, confirmed the date, noting that the recognition aligns with the board’s policy of promoting excellence in Nigerian football.

“It has been our policy to encourage players, coaches, and teams to elevate the quality of our league through outstanding performances. We have consistently rewarded our best clubs, top scorers, and coaches in conjunction with our investment partner, GTI Assets Management,” Elegbeleye stated.

Each award winner will receive a cash prize of ₦1.5 million and a commemorative plaque. The ceremony had initially been delayed due to Ogunmodede and Anas’ involvement with the CHAN Eagles during their recent preparations and participation.
