Nigeria duo gets WAFU-B Women's Champions League officiating roles

Two Nigerian referees, Alaba Olufunmilayo and Agbons Faith, have been selected by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of the officiating team for the 2025 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League Qualifiers in Côte d’Ivoire.

Olufunmilayo, a centre referee, and Agbons, who will serve as an assistant referee, are among 16 officials confirmed for the regional competition, eight referees, and eight assistants, drawn from across West Africa and beyond.

The roster features some of the continent’s top female match officials, including Gouchodeou Zongbossi Beatrice (Benin), Konan Akissi Natacha Gerardine (Côte d’Ivoire), and Boateng-Nkansah Rita Ama (Ghana). Assistant referees such as Louis Sonia Emilie Prisca (Benin) and Kouma Ami (Burkina Faso) also made the cut.

The qualifiers, scheduled for August 23 to September 4, 2025, will determine the WAFU-B representatives at the CAF Women’s Champions League Africa’s premier women’s club competition.
