Nyango Gyang Boyi makes history as first Nigerian to finish in Lagos City Marathon top 10
Nyango Gyang Boyi etched his name in history as the first Nigerian to finish in the top 10 of the prestigious Access Bank Lagos City Marathon, securing 8th place with a time of 2:25:41.58.
His remarkable feat earned him a $4,000 prize, along with an additional ₦2 million for emerging as the fastest Nigerian in the race.
The 42km race, held on Saturday, February 15, commenced at Western Avenue, National Stadium Surulere, and concluded at Eko Atlantic City, Victoria Island.
It attracted thousands of runners from around the world, all vying for top honors.
Since its debut less than a decade ago, the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon has grown into a globally recognized event, achieving World Athletics Gold Label status in 2023.
