Osinachi Ohale responds to Como 1907 switch
Italian club Como 1907 have announced the signing of former Super Falcons defender Osinachi Ohale, who joined the BiancoBlu during the summer transfer window.
The 35-year-old centre-back arrives in Como after her spell with Mexican side Pachuca, bringing a wealth of experience from a career that has taken her across several countries.
Ohale began her professional career in Nigeria in 2008 and has since played in the United States, Sweden, Spain and Mexico. She also previously featured in Italy with AS Roma in 2020.
At international level, the experienced defender represented Nigeria for more than 15 years and won the Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) five times with the Super Falcons.
Como 1907 Women's Technical Director Nils Nielsen welcomed the Nigerian's arrival, highlighting her defensive qualities and leadership experience.
"Osinachi is a very experienced and good defender. Having represented Nigeria for more than 15 years, including as captain, her international experience is extremely valuable for us.
"Her ability to place herself in the right spot defensively, and her 1-on-1 skills in marking as well as aerial strengths will help the team for sure," Nielsen said.
Ohale also expressed her delight at returning to Italy and beginning a new chapter with the club.
"I'm happy to return to Italy and embark on this new experience here in Como; I have a very positive feeling about it. I'm ready to do whatever the coach asks of me to help the team," she said.
The signing marks another chapter in the veteran defender's career as she prepares to bring her international experience and defensive expertise to Como 1907.
