Patrice Motsepe increases annual funding of Member Associations to $700,000

Confederation of African Football (CAF) President Dr Patrice Motsepe has increased the annual financial support for each of the confederation’s 54 member associations from $200,000 to $700,000.

The increase represents an additional $500,000 per association annually and is aimed at strengthening football administration, improving financial stability and providing national football federations with more resources to develop the game.

The enhanced funding is expected to help member associations improve their operational capacity, support grassroots initiatives and invest in football development programmes across their respective countries.

With the new allocation, CAF is significantly increasing its financial commitment to national federations, with the objective of enabling them to manage their activities more effectively and build stronger football institutions.

The initiative also reflects Motsepe’s continued focus on promoting the growth of African football by providing member associations with greater financial support and improving their administrative structures.

The additional resources could benefit several areas of the game, including grassroots football, talent development and the organisation of domestic competitions. However, the eventual impact will depend on how the funds are distributed, managed and utilised by individual associations.

The increased allocation marks a substantial rise in CAF’s annual financial support to its 54 member associations, with implementation arrangements and funding conditions expected to shape how the resources are deployed across the continent.
