Perfect run continue for FC Robo, Bayelsa Queens after NWFL Premiership Matchday six
Defending champions Bayelsa Queens and table-toppers FC Robo Queens continued their flawless starts to the 2025/26 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership, while Nasarawa Amazons also stretched their unbeaten run as the battle for Super Six places gathered momentum on Wednesday.
In Ozoro, Bayelsa Queens underlined their title credentials with a commanding 2–0 victory over Rivers Angels in a fiery South-South derby. First-half strikes from Janet Akekeromowei and Kindness Ifeanyi sealed a fifth win from five matches for the Prosperity Girls, who once again displayed control, discipline and cutting edge.
FC Robo Queens were equally ruthless in Aba, extending their perfect run to six straight victories with a 2–0 win over Abia Angels. Kemi Adegbuyi opened the scoring before Tosin Rafiu wrapped up the points after the break, keeping Emmanuel Osahon’s side firmly on top and showing no signs of slowing down.
At the Lafia City Stadium, Nasarawa Amazons delivered a composed and professional performance to defeat Osun Babes 2–0. Farikikyen Moses and Ayowunmi Omosuyi struck in the first half to secure another valuable win for the Solid Babes, who remain firmly in the Super Six conversation.
Ekiti Queens continued their resurgence in Ibadan, claiming a second consecutive victory with a 2–0 success over debutants Pacesetter Queens in a South-West derby. Zainab Ismail and Winifred Eyebhoria provided the goals that ensured the visitors maintained their upward momentum.
Another South-West derby produced a share of the spoils in Akure, where Sunshine Queens and Remo Stars Ladies played out a 1–1 draw. Similoluwa Okesiji gave the visitors the lead shortly after the restart, but Misturat Olamilekan responded ten minutes later to restore parity for the hosts.
Delta Queens left it late in Asaba, edging debutants Ahudiyannem Queens 1–0 thanks to Charity Isaiah’s decisive 77th-minute strike, while Confluence Queens finally broke their winless run in emphatic style in Lagos, cruising to a 3–0 victory over Dannaz Ladies. Seember Emmanuel bagged a brace, with Blessing Sunday adding the third.
In Owerri, Heartland Queens deepened Ibom Angels’ woes with a 2–0 victory, condemning the visitors to a fourth straight defeat as Oluebube Umejiaku and Onyinyechi Kalu found the net. Elsewhere in Abuja, former champions Edo Queens produced a clinical second-half display to dismantle Naija Ratels 3–0, with goals from Atume Doosuur, Mary Mamudu and Precious Oscar rounding off a dominant performance.
