Raheem Salawudeen shines as Golden Eaglets thrash Sporting Dream ahead of China Invitational
Nigeria's U-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, continued their preparations for the upcoming China Invitational Tournament with a convincing 4-1 win over Sporting Dream in a friendly match played in Abuja.
The encounter formed part of the team's build-up for the four-nation tournament scheduled for early next month in China, where the Golden Eaglets will face top youth teams from around the world.
Among the standout performers was Buruj Football Club and Sports Academy midfielder Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, who delivered an eye-catching performance in the heart of midfield. The talented youngster impressed with his composure, creativity, work rate, and ability to dictate the tempo of the game.
Salaudeen recently joined the Golden Eaglets' training camp in Abuja after earning an invitation from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF). His latest call-up continues his steady rise through the national youth ranks, having previously represented Nigeria at the U-15 level against Morocco in 2023, as well as at the African School Games in Algeria in 2024 and Burkina Faso in 2025.
The impressive victory provides another confidence boost for the Golden Eaglets as they fine-tune preparations for the China Invitational Tournament, where the team will be aiming to build momentum and gain valuable international experience.
