Customs CG Volleyball Premier League first phase ends in Abuja

 

 

The first phase of the 2026 Customs Comptroller General (CGC) Volleyball Premier League will conclude on Saturday with a colourful closing ceremony at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Stadium, Abuja.

 

The event is expected to attract several top dignitaries, including the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr. Musa Nimrod, and other key stakeholders in the nation's sports sector.

 

Ahead of the grand finale, Day 10 of the competition produced thrilling action, with 12 matches—six in the men's category and six in the women's division.

 

In the men's fixtures, NSCDC recorded a straight-set 3-0 victory over the Nigeria Police Force, winning 25-21, 25-18 and 25-22. UCEM VC also secured a comfortable 3-0 win against Ajase Ipo, taking the sets 25-23, 25-18 and 25-16.

 

Kano Pillars were pushed to the limit before edging the Nigeria Correctional Service 3-2 in one of the most competitive matches of the day. The encounter ended 25-20, 14-25, 25-20, 17-25 and 15-12 in favour of the Kano side.

 

Defence Spikers defeated Offa VC in straight sets, 25-16, 25-23 and 25-15, while COAS Spikers overwhelmed Sunshine Spikers 25-16, 25-13 and 25-7 to complete another dominant 3-0 victory.

 

In the final men's game, the Nigeria Customs Service defeated CNS Spikers 3-1 after dropping the opening set. Customs won 21-25, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-15.

 

The women's category also witnessed impressive performances. COAS Spikers defeated the Fire Service 3-0, winning 25-23, 25-13 and 25-20.

 

Lifecamp VC emerged victorious in one of the day's most entertaining contests, coming from behind to beat Benue Queens 3-2. The closely fought encounter ended 25-14, 24-26, 21-25, 25-19 and 16-14.

 

NAF Rockets proved too strong for Vipers Spikers, claiming a 3-0 victory with scores of 27-25, 25-18 and 25-19.

 

NSCDC enjoyed an easy outing against Anambra Queens, cruising to a 3-0 win with set scores of 25-15, 25-9 and 25-15.

 

Kada Emeralds endured another disappointing performance as they were comprehensively beaten 3-0 by CNS Spikers, who won 25-11, 25-12 and 25-16.

 

The Nigeria Customs Service women's team capped off the day's action with another commanding display, defeating Olalomi Royal Angels 3-0 with scores of 25-18, 25-22 and 25-7 to underline their title credentials as the first phase of the league draws to a close.
