Salman Abubakar opened the scoring in the 27th minute before completing his brace in the 58th minute.

 Chijioke Mbaoma extended Rivers United’s advantage in the 49th minute, while Wasiu Falolu added the fourth goal in the 62nd minute.

 Ekene Awazie completed the emphatic victory with an 84th-minute strike as Rivers United secured all three points in convincing fashion.

Rivers United moved to second position with 10 points after four matches.
