Shooting Stars unveil Chowdeck, BOVAS partnership ahead of NPFL season
Shooting Stars Sports Club have strengthened their commercial backing ahead of the new season, unveiling Chowdeck as principal partner and BOVAS as sleeve sponsor as the Oluyole Warriors prepare for a demanding domestic and continental campaign.
The partnerships were announced by club chairman Taiwo Lekan Salami during a press conference in Ibadan on Wednesday, with the club looking to build on last season’s performance and compete strongly on both fronts.
Salami said the new partnerships form part of the club’s broader efforts to strengthen Shooting Stars on and off the pitch.
“We are determined to build a stronger and more competitive Shooting Stars team ahead of the new season. Our objective is to improve on last season’s performance and ensure that the club competes effectively on both the domestic and continental fronts,” Salami said.
The chairman also called on the club’s supporters to play their part, urging them to turn out in numbers and give the team their backing throughout what promises to be a busy campaign.
For Chowdeck, the partnership represents an opportunity to connect technology with one of Nigeria’s most historic football clubs.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Femi Aluko, revealed that the relationship also carries a personal connection, with his father being a longtime Shooting Stars supporter.
“My father is a big fan of Shooting Stars, so I am part of the club now. This is a traditional club, and Chowdeck is the biggest online food delivery service in Nigeria. So, this is the intersection of sports and technology,” Aluko said.
Aluko expressed optimism about the partnership, promising greater involvement from Chowdeck and stressing the importance of both parties sharing the successes and challenges that come with the season.
BOVAS also expressed its excitement at joining forces with the Ibadan-based club.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Head of Engineering and Projects at BOVAS Group, Engineer Tolulope Ayediran, said the partnership was a natural fit, given the shared connection both organisations have with Ibadan.
“We are very excited to be part of this particular club. We looked at the club’s trend and its intersection with BOVAS. 3SC is a pride of Ibadan and Nigeria; likewise, BOVAS has its headquarters here. We are going to see a lot of our participation going forward,” Ayediran said.
He confirmed that the BOVAS partnership is structured as a five-year deal, with the company expected to play a greater role in the club’s visibility and activities over the duration of the agreement.
On the pitch, Shooting Stars will waste little time getting down to business.
The Oluyole Warriors open their 2026/27 NPFL campaign on Friday, August 28, when they host Inter Lagos at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
Their continental journey will follow shortly after, with Shooting Stars set to face CS Sfaxien in the CAF Confederation Cup. The first leg is scheduled for September 5 in Abeokuta, with the return leg to be played in Tunisia on September 13.
With fresh commercial backing and ambitious targets on the field, Shooting Stars now begin a season in which expectations will be high from the boardroom to the terraces and, ultimately, on the pitch.
