Sunday Dare to lead top guests to 6th Sportsville Special Recognition Awards
Former Minister of Sports, Hon. Sunday Dare, will headline a distinguished list of guests expected at the 6th edition of the Sportsville Special Recognition Awards ceremony.
According to a statement from the organisers, Dare, who is now Special Adviser to the President on Communications, will lead other prominent personalities to the highly anticipated event.
Among those expected are Chief Segun Odegbami, MON, Director General of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, former Director General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission, Dr Danladi Bako, and President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau.
Also confirmed for the ceremony are the Chief Executive Officer of LAPO Microfinance, Godwin Ehigiamusoe, Ph.D, Chief Executive Officer of Pamodzi Sports Marketing, Mike Itemuagbor, and former NFF Vice President, Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi.
The guest list also includes the 2024 and 2025 Sports Personalities of the Year, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and Dr Uyi Akpata, as well as the Managing Directors of HotSports Group, Taye Ige, and MasterSports International, Mitchell Obi.
SuperSport Nigeria General Manager, Chief Felix Awogu, and top television anchor, Charles Anazodo, are also expected at the event.
From the media, the Managing Director of The Nation newspaper, Victor Ifijeh, will lead a pack that includes former editor of Abuja Newsday and The Guardian, Martins Oloja, as well as Saturday Vanguard editor, Onochie Anibeze.
Members of the Guild of Sports Editors have also confirmed their attendance.
This year’s award ceremony will hold at the prestigious Lagos Country Club on Saturday, March 28, and will be chaired by the Chairman of Brila FM Group, Dr Larry Izamoje.
