Super Falcons clinch 2025 CAF Women's Team of the Year

African champions, the Nigeria Super Falcons, have been crowned the 2025 CAF Women’s National Team of the Year in Rabat, Morocco.

The announcement, made on Wednesday, November 19, at the CAF Awards, caps off a remarkable year for the 10-time WAFCON queens, who have now won this honour three times in a row and seven times overall, further cementing their dominance on the continent.

Nigeria’s latest recognition follows their unforgettable run at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, held earlier this year in Morocco. In one of the most dramatic finals ever seen, the Super Falcons came from 2–0 down to stun hosts Morocco 3–2, clinching their 10th African title in breathtaking fashion.

Throughout the tournament, the Falcons were a class apart, winning five of six matches, keeping four clean sheets, and conceding just two goals from open play. With a perfect blend of defensive discipline, midfield control, and ruthless attack, the Nigerian side stood head and shoulders above the competition.

Their latest accolade is a fitting reward for a team that continues to set the benchmark in African women’s football.
