Tanzania secured their first point of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign after playing out a 1-1 draw with Madagascar in their second Group L fixture.

 The Taifa Stars were looking to recover from their disappointing opening-day result, having suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Guinea-Bissau.

 Tanzania took the lead in the 39th minute when Kachwele found the back of the net to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage heading into the break.

 Madagascar responded quickly after the restart, with Fontaine restoring parity in the 50th minute.

 Neither side could find a decisive goal in the remainder of the match as the encounter ended 1-1.

 The result sees Tanzania pick up their first point of the qualifying campaign, while Madagascar also earned a point on home soil.
