Tinubu Will Deliver Lasting Solutions to Insecurity — APC Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Adeyeye, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will deliver durable solutions to Nigeria’s persistent security challenges.

Adeyeye, who is the National Chairman of the South-West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA) and Chairman of the Board of the Nigeria Ports Authority (NPA), stated this in an interview with journalists on Sunday in Lagos.

He described the recent surge in attacks across parts of the country as the handiwork of “saboteurs and enemies of the state” seeking to destabilise the nation for political gain.

“What we are witnessing now is orchestrated by some enemies of government who think they can exploit our challenges to advance their political interests,” he said.

Adeyeye said President Tinubu had demonstrated firm leadership through swift actions, including declaring a security emergency and approving the recruitment of additional security personnel.

He added that the declaration of a state of emergency on security showed Tinubu’s readiness to confront the crisis decisively.

“He has outlined measures to tackle the problem, even beyond what people expected,” the former minister noted.

The former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said the administration had taken significant steps to stem insecurity, expressing optimism that full implementation of the outlined strategies would restore peace across the country.

“He is taking the bull by the horns, and I am sure that with full implementation of these measures, this problem will be tackled once and for all,” he said.

Adeyeye noted that while criminality exists globally, strong and consistent government action can significantly minimise its impact.

“Criminality has been with us since the foundation of the world. What we are saying is that we must reduce it to the barest minimum so that people can live peacefully. The government is taking steps,” he said.

He said Tinubu’s record as Lagos State governor and his performance so far as president should reassure Nigerians of his capability to fix the nation’s security challenges.

“Given his achievements, Nigerians can trust him. If he tackled economic problems head-on, he will also find solutions to the security problems,” Adeyeye added.

The APC chieftain expressed optimism about the nation’s future under Tinubu’s leadership, saying “better days are ahead for all citizens.”
