Tolu Arokodare's training ground standoff forces Wolves to halt session
Nigeria forward Tolu Arokodare was at the centre of an unusual incident on Tuesday after his unexpected appearance at Wolverhampton Wanderers' training base reportedly led to the cancellation of the club's scheduled session.
The Nigerian striker, who continues to attract transfer interest from clubs in Turkey, Italy, and Spain, arrived at the training ground fully kitted and prepared to join his teammates despite reportedly being omitted from head coach Cesar Peixoto's plans for the ongoing preseason campaign.
According to reports, Peixoto informed Arokodare that he was not expected to participate and requested that he leave the training area.
However, the 25 year old insisted on training with the squad, leading to a tense standoff between player and management.
With the situation unresolved, Peixoto opted to call off the session, underlining his determination to maintain discipline within the squad and avoid setting a precedent for player influence over managerial decisions.
Reports further indicate that additional security measures have been requested at the club's Compton Park training facility ahead of Wednesday's activities to prevent any recurrence of the incident.
Arokodare is also expected to miss Wolves' trip to face Maidenhead United later tonight as uncertainty surrounding his immediate future at the club continues.
