U-17 Women's World Cup: Flamingos settle in Rabat ahead of Poland opener

Nigeria’s Flamingos have arrived in Rabat, Morocco, ahead of their opening match against Poland at the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup, scheduled for Saturday, October 17.

The Nigerian U-17 women’s national team have settled into the Complexe Sportif Féminin in Rabat, where they will continue preparations for their first group-stage encounter.

The team departed Casablanca on Tuesday after holding their final training session in the city on Monday evening.

The move to Rabat marks the next phase of the Flamingos’ preparations as the coaching crew works to ensure the players are ready for the challenge posed by Poland.

The team’s arrival also comes with a few adjustments to their preparations as they settle into their new base and adapt to the final arrangements ahead of the tournament.

The Flamingos will use their remaining training sessions in Rabat to sharpen their tactical organisation, improve coordination across the team and fine-tune their approach for the opening fixture.

Saturday’s encounter against Poland will provide Nigeria with their first opportunity to test their preparations on the World Cup stage, with a positive start expected to be important to their campaign.

The coaching crew will also be looking to ensure the players maintain their concentration and fitness as they prepare for the demands of the competition.

With their base established in Rabat, the Flamingos are now focused on completing their final preparations before taking on Poland in their opening match on October 17.

Nigeria will be hoping to translate their preparations into a strong performance as they begin their quest for success at the global youth tournament.
