Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has hit back at criticism of his performances, insisting that he remains one of the best strikers in the world.

The Galatasaray forward made the declaration while speaking to journalists in the mixed zone after his side’s 4-2 UEFA Champions League victory over his former club, Lille.

Osimhen maintained that he has nothing to prove to his critics, stressing that his ability to score goals and play with the ball is not in doubt.

“No one can teach me how to play with the ball or how to score goals. I’m one of the world’s best strikers, so I don’t get hung up on that kind of commentary,” the Nigerian international said.

The Super Eagles forward also acknowledged that things do not always go according to plan but emphasised the importance of unity and collective effort as the team continues its campaign.

Osimhen capped his performance against Lille by scoring his first UEFA Champions League goal of the season and earning the Man of the Match award following Galatasaray’s impressive victory.
