Nigeria’s Flamingos continued their preparations for a busy international schedule with a convincing 3-0 victory over Youngstar FA, as the U-17 women’s national team steps up preparations for the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup Côte d’Ivoire 2026 and the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The Flamingos produced a strong performance to secure the comfortable victory, with three different players finding the net in a result that will further boost the team’s preparations ahead of the two major assignments.

Chisom Emmanuella Chukwuemeka opened the scoring in the 16th minute, giving Nigeria an early advantage.

The Flamingos maintained their attacking momentum after the break and doubled their lead through Harmony Chidi eight minutes into the second half.

Mary Dunstan then completed the scoring in the 87th minute to seal a comprehensive 3-0 victory for the Nigerian side.

The friendly is part of the Flamingos’ preparations for the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup Côte d’Ivoire 2026, which is scheduled to take place from September 15 to 28, 2026.

Nigeria have been drawn in Group B alongside regional rivals Ghana, Togo and Niger, setting up a highly competitive group for the Flamingos.

The West African tournament will provide an important competitive platform for the Nigerian youngsters as they continue to build towards the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

The technical crew will be looking to use the remaining preparation period to sharpen the team’s tactical organisation, attacking efficiency and defensive coordination before the Flamingos begin their WAFU-B campaign.
