The Dallas Wings have added Nigerian forward Amy Okonkwo on a seven-day hardship contract.

Okonkwo joins the Wings fresh off leading Nigeria’s D’Tigress to their fifth straight FIBA Women’s AfroBasket crown in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The 28-year-old not only captained the side to glory but also earned back-to-back MVP honours, repeating her 2023 triumph with another dominant showing.

Her leadership and stellar performances proved decisive as Nigeria overcame Mali in the final to extend their continental dominance.

Okonkwo is set to be available when the Wings face the Seattle Storm on Friday, bringing with her championship pedigree, international experience, and the confidence of a proven winner as Dallas battles through a packed schedule and injury setbacks.
