Port Harcourt has been confirmed as the host city for the 2026 Nigeria Premier Basketball League (NPBL) Final Four, with the season-ending championship now scheduled for September 20–22.

The decision follows a venue clash that forced organisers to revise the initial arrangements and adjust the dates for the decisive phase of the men’s premier basketball competition.

The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) communicated the new dates and host city in an official communiqué signed by the Chairman of the Men’s Premier League, Babatunde Ogunade, and NBBF Secretary-General, Amina O. Amanchi. 

The Final Four will bring together the leading teams from the 2026 NPBL campaign for the final battle for the league championship.

The tournament represents the climax of the 2026 NPBL season, with the participating teams expected to compete in a high-stakes format as they seek to finish the campaign as Nigeria’s premier men’s basketball champions.

The change in venue and schedule became necessary after a clash over the originally designated venue disrupted the initial plans, prompting the league authorities to make alternative arrangements.

Port Harcourt will now provide the setting for the season-ending showdown, adding another major basketball event to the city’s growing profile as a host of national sporting competitions.

The NBBF is expected to release the detailed Final Four fixtures and further information on the specific venue arrangements ahead of the competition.

The revised September 20–22 dates also give the participating teams additional time to prepare for what promises to be the most decisive stage of the NPBL season.

With the title now set to be decided in Port Harcourt, attention will shift to the teams that secured places in the Final Four and their quest to crown a successful 2026 campaign with the NPBL championship.
