Nigeria international Gift Orban needs just three more goals to trigger the clause that would make his loan move to Turkish Super Lig side Amedspor permanent.

Amedspor president Nahit Eren has disclosed the details of the agreement with German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, revealing that the mandatory purchase clause becomes active once Orban reaches 10 league goals this season.  

Orban has made a sensational start to life in Turkey, scoring seven goals and providing two assists in six league appearances for the newly promoted Amedspor.

The 24-year-old striker joined Amedspor from Hoffenheim during the summer on a season-long loan that includes an option to make the transfer permanent.

Eren explained that Amedspor paid €500,000 for the initial loan, correcting earlier reports that had put the figure at €1 million.

“If he scores 10 goals, the mandatory purchase option will be activated,” Eren was quoted as saying by GZT.  

The Amedspor president also clarified the permanent transfer fee, saying the Turkish club would pay €3 million to Hoffenheim if Orban reaches the required goal tally.

“This figure is 3 million euros, not 5 million. We will pay this amount in installments over the years,” Eren added.  

The clarification follows earlier reports that suggested a different financial structure for the Nigerian forward’s move to Turkey.

Orban’s performances have quickly made the transfer clause a realistic possibility. He has scored in four consecutive league matches and has established himself among the leading scorers in the Turkish top flight.  

His latest contribution came in Amedspor’s 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş, where he scored the opening goal and also provided an assist.

Before that, Orban produced a hat-trick in Amedspor’s 5-0 victory over Başakşehir, while also finding the net against Trabzonspor and twice against Kasımpaşa.  

His goals have played a significant role in Amedspor’s impressive start to their first season in the Turkish top flight. The newly promoted side have collected 13 points from their opening six league matches and currently sit at the top of the standings on goal difference.  

Orban’s current tally also puts him three goals away from the figure that would oblige Amedspor to complete his permanent transfer from Hoffenheim.

The Nigerian forward previously made his name at Belgian club Gent before moving to Olympique Lyon and subsequently Hoffenheim. He spent the previous season on loan at Italian side Hellas Verona.

His explosive start in Turkey has now placed him in a strong position to secure a permanent stay with Amedspor, provided he reaches the 10-goal threshold.

With seven goals already on the board after only six league appearances, Orban will now need three more league goals to complete the requirement and potentially turn his successful loan spell into a permanent transfer.
