Aston Villa sign Rofiat Imuran from London City Lionesses
Aston Villa Women have announced the signing of Nigerian international defender Rofiat Imuran on a permanent deal, subject to visa approval.
The 22-year-old joins Villa from London City Lionesses, where she played a key role in helping the club secure promotion to the Women’s Super League (WSL). Imuran will wear the number 22 shirt at Villa.
Imuran previously played for Rivers Angels in the NWFL Premiership before making the move to Europe.
Her first overseas experience came in France with Stade de Reims, where she spent two seasons before moving to England.
She subsequently enjoyed a two-year spell with London City Lionesses, contributing to their promotion to the top flight of English women’s football.
The Nigerian defender now begins a new chapter with Aston Villa as she looks to establish herself in the WSL.
