Interim head coach of Nigeria's senior women's national team, Augustine Eguavoen has invited 28 players for Nigeria’s crucial Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifying fixture against Comoros.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, defenders Michelle Alozie and Oluwatosin Demehin, midfielders Christy Ucheibe, Toni Payne and Jennifer Echegini, alongside forwards Asisat Oshoala, Gift Monday and Uchenna Kanu, headline the squad.

The squad also features a number of promising youngsters, including Christiana Uzoma, Farida Abdulwahab, Tumininu Adeshina, Favour Nkwocha, Shakirat Moshood, Oluwakemi Adegbuyi and Janet Akekoromowei.

The players are expected to report to the AM2PM Hotel in Ijebu-Ode on Saturday, October 3, as preparations begin for the two-legged second-round tie.

Comoros will host the first leg on Friday, October 9, but the game will be played at the Remo Stars Sports Stadium, Ikenne-Remo, due to the island nation’s lack of a CAF-approved international venue.

Nigeria will host the return leg at the same venue on Tuesday, October 13.

The Falcons must win the tie on aggregate to progress to the third round of the five-round Olympic qualifying campaign, which will run through December next year.
