The 2026 Ardova Handball Premier League has been scheduled to hold from November 6 to 21, 2026, in Lagos, with the country’s leading handball clubs expected to compete for honours in the men’s and women’s categories.

 The top-tier domestic competition will be played at the Indoor Sports Hall of the National Institute for Sports (NIS), Surulere, Lagos, and the Rowe Park Sports Complex, Alagomeji, Yaba.

 The 2026 edition marks the ninth consecutive year of the league and comes following the renewal of the partnership between Ardova PLC and the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) for another three years. The competition will continue to operate under the Ardova Handball Premier League name.

 The renewed agreement further strengthens the partnership, which has continued to support the growth and development of handball in Nigeria while providing a platform for the country’s best clubs and players to compete at the highest domestic level.

 Teams representing the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) will enter the new season as defending champions. Three-time champions Safety Shooters claimed the men’s title, while seven-time champions Safety Babes retained the women’s crown.

 Safety Babes also extended their remarkable dominance by securing an unprecedented fifth consecutive title last season, with their unbeaten league run stretching back to the 2022 season.

 Over the years, the Ardova Handball Premier League has established itself as Nigeria’s premier domestic handball competition. The league continues to provide clubs and players with opportunities to compete at the highest level, identify and develop emerging talent, and contribute to the overall growth of handball across the country.
