BREAKING: Tonobok Ojuru Okowa Re-Elected as AFN President with 42 Votes

Tonobok Okowa has been re-elected as the President of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) after securing a decisive 42 votes during the federation's elective congress held in Abuja on Wednesday.
The Delta State sports administrator, who first emerged as AFN President in 2021, will now continue to lead the federation for another term amid expectations of consolidating on his previous achievements and driving reforms in Nigerian athletics.
The electoral process, supervised by officials of the Federal Ministry of Sports Development and representatives from the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC), was described as peaceful and transparent.
Details on other elected board members are expected to follow.
