On Monday, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau (MON), President of the Nigeria Football Federation, officially launched the first group of participants for the CAF B-Licence Coaching Course at the NFF-FIFA Technical Centre located in the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.

The NFF President expressed his happiness at this important achievement, stating, “Today is a day of great joy for me.” He highlighted the significance of advancing football in Nigeria, noting, “This initiative has been in the works for a long time, and seeing it come to fruition today is truly rewarding. I am also pleased to welcome coaches from other countries who are participating in this essential training program.”

He praised the NFF Technical Department, headed by Coach Augustine Eguavoen, for their hard work in organizing the course and acknowledged the teamwork involved. “I encourage all participants to avoid distractions and fully engage in this learning opportunity,” he said. “This is a fantastic chance for personal growth. By the end of this year, we plan to introduce a CAF A-License program, and I am confident that with the dedication of the Technical Department, we will succeed.”

NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, emphasized that this program will enhance coaching standards in Nigeria's football leagues. He pointed out that without top-tier coaches, the performance of all teams could suffer. “Our goal is to ensure that our coaches adopt modern techniques and strategies, and to obtain certification, as lacking a B-License will prevent participation in international competitions like inter-club tournaments.”

The CAF B-Licence coaching course is a vital part of the NFF's strategic plan to improve coaching skills across Nigeria. The course will last four months and will be held in various locations.
