CAF Women's Champions League: Egypt to host 2026 edition as six teams confirmed for tournament
Egypt will host the CAF Women’s Champions League for the second consecutive year, with the 2026 edition scheduled to take place from November 1 to 15.
Six of the eight participating teams have been confirmed for the continental club competition, including defending champions AS FAR of Morocco and two-time winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
The confirmed teams are AS FAR, Mamelodi Sundowns, FUS Rabat of Morocco, Kawempe Muslim of Uganda, Lekié FF of Cameroon and USFAS of Mali.
The remaining two places will be filled by the representative from the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B and Egypt’s host-nation representative.
AS FAR will enter the tournament aiming to defend their title, while Mamelodi Sundowns will seek to add to their previous triumphs and reclaim the continental crown.
The presence of two Moroccan clubs, alongside representatives from South Africa, Uganda, Cameroon and Mali, highlights the diversity of teams already confirmed for the competition.
With two qualification places still available, attention will turn to the remaining representatives as preparations continue for the tournament in Egypt.
The CAF Women’s Champions League brings together the leading women’s club sides from across Africa to compete for continental honours, with the 2026 edition expected to provide another platform for the growth and development of women’s football on the continent.
