CAF launches CHAN 2024 campaign with "PAMOJA" theme
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially kicked off the campaign for the 2024 edition of the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN), unveiling the tournament’s theme and official poster under the unifying banner “PAMOJA.”
The tournament, set to run from August 2 to 30, 2025, will make history as it is co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania marking the first time three East African nations will jointly stage a major continental football event.
At the heart of the campaign is the word PAMOJA, a Swahili term that means “unity.” It’s more than just a theme; it’s a powerful statement of togetherness, harmony, and shared ambition core values that reflect not only the spirit of African football but also the culture of the host nations.
CAF unveiled the official tournament poster across its digital platforms and broadcast partners on Monday. The poster, rich in colour and cultural symbolism, blends vibrant designs with iconic East African imagery, capturing the energy of African football and the essence of PAMOJA.
The CHAN tournament is unique in that it is reserved exclusively for players active in their domestic leagues. It provides a platform to celebrate homegrown talent and highlights the depth, passion, and diversity of football across the continent.
As anticipation for CHAN 2024 continues to build, the PAMOJA campaign will take centre stage across various media channels. From fan engagement initiatives and grassroots football programs to compelling digital storytelling, CAF aims to foster a stronger connection between the tournament and African communities across the globe.
