Nigeria set for crucial Niger test at CAVB Zone 3 Nations Cup Qualifiers

 

 

Nigeria's men's volleyball team will launch its campaign for a place at the 2026 CAVB African Volleyball Nations Cup with a crucial opening match against Niger Republic on Tuesday in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

 

The Zone 3 Qualifiers have brought together six men's teams and five women's teams from across West Africa, all battling for coveted spots at the continental championship.

 

Nigeria will face Niger Republic at 3:00 p.m. Nigerian time in a fixture that could play a significant role in shaping the team's qualification hopes. A positive result would provide the Nigerians with a strong foundation as they pursue a ticket to the African Nations Cup.

 

The men's competition will get underway with Burkina Faso taking on Benin at 1:00 p.m., before Nigeria's encounter with Niger Republic. Host nation Côte d'Ivoire will conclude the day's men's action against Togo at 5:00 p.m. in front of an expected passionate home crowd.

 

In the women's category, Côte d'Ivoire will begin its campaign against Togo at 7:00 p.m., while Benin and Burkina Faso will square off in the final match of the opening day at 9:00 p.m.

 

With several of the region's strongest volleyball nations in attendance, the CAVB Zone 3 Qualifiers promise intense competition as teams seek a strong start in their quest to secure qualification for the 2026 African Volleyball Nations Cup.
