CAF unveils 2026/27 Champions League, Confederation Cup calendar

 

 

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the official fixture calendar for the 2026/27 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup, with the new continental campaign set to get underway in September 2026.

 

The journey to African club football glory will begin with the first preliminary round. First-leg matches are scheduled for September 4–6, while the return fixtures will take place from September 11–13. Clubs that advance will battle in the second preliminary round, with first-leg ties slated for October 16–18 and second-leg encounters from October 23–25.

 

Following the qualifying rounds, the group stage of both competitions will run from late November 2026 through January 2027.

 

The group stage fixtures have been lined up as follows:

 

Matchday 1: November 27–29, 2026

 

Matchday 2: December 4–6, 2026

 

Matchday 3: December 18–20, 2026

 

Matchday 4: January 8–10, 2027

 

Matchday 5: January 15–17, 2027

 

Matchday 6: January 22–24, 2027

 

 

The knockout rounds will begin in February 2027, with the quarter-finals taking place over two legs on February 26–28 and March 5–7. The semi-finals are scheduled for April 9–11 and April 16–18, before the champions of both competitions are crowned during the finals window between May 9 and May 31, 2027.

 

CAF also confirmed that the lucrative prize money introduced in recent seasons remains unchanged. The winners of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will receive USD 6 million, while the champions of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup will take home USD 4 million.

 

The announcement provides clubs across the continent with a clear roadmap for the new season as they prepare for another fiercely contested battle for Africa's most prestigious club honours.
