Christian Nwachukwu seals long term move to Azerbaijani Sabah FC
Nigerian youngster Christian Nwachukwu has completed a permanent transfer to Azerbaijani Premier League side Sabah FC, bringing an end to his stint with English Championship club Sheffield United.
The highly rated 20 year old winger has signed a long term contract with the Masazir based club that will keep him at the Bank Respublika Arena until the summer of 2029.
Nwachukwu's football journey began in Nigeria before his talent was spotted by Nigerian football personality Ojo Paul Omamomo, who facilitated his move to Russian based academy FDC Vista to further his development.
Upon turning 18, the pacey left winger secured his first professional contract with Bulgarian top-flight club Botev Plovdiv, where he gained valuable experience in both the Bulgarian First League and the UEFA Conference League. His impressive performances earned him a move to English side Sheffield United.
Seeking regular first team football, Nwachukwu spent time on loan at Turkish club Serikspor, where he accumulated senior playing experience before completing his switch to Sabah FC.
The move offers the promising Nigerian another opportunity to continue his development in European football, with Sabah FC placing their faith in his potential through a four year deal as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.
