Raphael Onyedka joins Eintracht Frankfurt
Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika has completed a permanent move to Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt from Belgian champions Club Brugge, bringing an end to his successful spell in Belgium.
The Super Eagles midfielder joins Frankfurt on an initial transfer fee of €9 million and has signed a five year contract that will keep him at the German club until June 2031. He will wear the No. 25 jersey.
The transfer marks a significant step in Onyedika's career after establishing himself as one of the most consistent midfielders in the Belgian top flight, where he won multiple domestic honours and gained valuable European experience.
Eintracht Frankfurt Sporting Director Markus Krösche expressed his delight at securing the Nigerian's signature, describing him as a player who brings quality, maturity and room for further growth.
"Raphael Onyedika impresses us not only with his robustness and strategic understanding of the game, but above all with his exceptional consistency," Krösche said.
"He has been a regular starter for several years and has celebrated numerous titles in Belgium. Furthermore, he possesses valuable international experience. At 25 years old, he still has great potential for development and is also an important building block for the structure of our squad."
Onyedika is expected to strengthen Frankfurt's midfield ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign, with the club banking on his ball winning ability, tactical intelligence and composure to make an immediate impact.
The move also provides another major platform for the Super Eagles star as he prepares for upcoming domestic and international challenges with one of Germany's top clubs.
