Commodore Shettima Mohammed elected President Nigeria Shooting Sports Federation
Commodore Shettima Mohammed of the Nigerian Navy has been elected as the new President of the Nigerian Shooting Sport Federation (NSSF) following a closely contested by-election held on Saturday at the Handball Indoor Hall, Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja.
Mohammed defeated the incumbent president, Captain O.B. Ayoade (also of the Nigerian Navy), after polling eight out of fourteen votes cast, while Ayoade secured five votes.
The by-election was organized under the supervision of the National Sports Commission (NSC) after a series of previous ties prevented the emergence of a winner.
According to officials, the new NSSF Board will be inaugurated by the NSC alongside other sports federations whose elections have been successfully concluded.
Mohammed’s victory marks a new chapter for the Shooting Federation, with expectations high for renewed leadership and progress in the development of shooting sports across Nigeria.
