FCC Executive Chairman reintroduces 25 operational committees
The Federal Character Commission has marked a major institutional milestone as its Executive Chairman, Hon. Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran, reintroduced the 25 Operational Committees, restoring the system for the first time in five years.
As part of activities marking the development, the Secretary to the Commission, Muhammad Musa, on behalf of the Executive Chairman, convened a formal briefing for the newly appointed Committee Clerks, February 16th, 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the Executive Chairman, the Secretary emphasised that the new assignment demands loyalty, dedication, discipline, and hard work, adding that regular performance assessments would be conducted to ensure strict accountability in the discharge of duties.
He reaffirmed the Executive Chairman’s zero-tolerance policy on corruption, slot-selling, and all forms of misconduct, warning that such acts will not be condoned under any circumstance.
The Secretary further announced that a whistleblowing policy will soon be introduced, in collaboration with Commissioners, to identify and address corrupt practices within the system.
In his remarks, the Director of Human Resources, Sanni Ibrahim, clarified that the appointments are ad hoc and advised the clerks to continue reporting to their parent departments while keeping their Directors informed of official assignments. He reminded them that they are ambassadors of the Commission and must perform their duties in strict compliance with Federal Character principles and guidelines.
The event concluded with the formal inauguration of the Committee Clerks by the Secretary to the Commission.
