FG unveils D30 platform to drive $100bn creative and toursim economy by 2030

The Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy has unveiled the D30 Platform, a national data and investment intelligence hub designed to unlock opportunities across Nigeria’s creative and tourism sectors.

Developed in partnership with Cavista Holdings, the platform will provide investors, businesses and state governments with a single source of information to identify creative clusters, tourism assets, infrastructure gaps and viable investment opportunities across the country.

Speaking at the launch, the Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, thanked Cavista Holdings for its partnership in delivering the technology, describing the initiative as a response to a longstanding challenge in the sector: the lack of reliable and comprehensive data to measure its economic potential.

Musawa explained that the platform would enable investors to make informed decisions by providing relevant information about industry clusters, existing infrastructure and areas requiring further investment.

An investor planning to establish a film production facility, for instance, would be able to identify locations with established creative clusters and assess the availability of supporting infrastructure.

“D30 is not intended to be another government database that simply accumulates information. Its purpose is to support decisions that help businesses expand, guide investors and enable government to deploy resources more effectively,” the minister said.

She added that state governments seeking to develop tourism destinations would be able to assess connectivity and investment requirements, while creative entrepreneurs could access market intelligence to expand beyond familiar markets.

In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Abdulkarim Ozi Ibrahim, described the unveiling as a significant milestone in efforts to harness the economic potential of Nigeria’s art, culture, tourism and creative industries.

According to Ibrahim, the platform would strengthen evidence-based policymaking, improve investment visibility and provide businesses and entrepreneurs with information to support expansion, competitiveness and commercial decision-making.

He noted that D30 would serve different stakeholders by offering government better tools for planning, investors greater insight into emerging opportunities and businesses improved access to relevant market information.

Also speaking at the event, the Executive Director and Vice President, Government and External Affairs at Cavista Holdings, Olumide Olayomi, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Nigeria’s tourism and creative economy through credible data and evidence-based planning.

Olayomi said the platform would help public and private sector stakeholders identify viable investments, address infrastructure deficiencies and stimulate growth across the sector’s value chain.

“Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, diverse tourism destinations and vibrant creative community offer enormous potential for jobs and wealth creation, but the sector cannot scale without reliable intelligence to track opportunities, assess needs and measure progress,” he said.

He further aligned Cavista Holdings with the Ministry’s ambition to generate $100 billion and create three million jobs by 2030, emphasising that sustained collaboration between government and the private sector would be essential to achieving the targets.

The Statistician-General of the Federation and Chief Executive Officer of the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Prince Adeyemi Adeniran, represented by his Technical Assistant, Moses Waniko, pledged the Bureau’s collaboration with the Ministry to strengthen data collection and harmonise statistical methodologies.

Waniko stressed that the platform’s effectiveness would depend on the quality, consistency, reliability and comparability of the information it provides.

He reaffirmed the NBS’s commitment to producing credible official statistics that support government institutions, private-sector operators, development partners and researchers.

Meanwhile, the Special Adviser to the President on Partnerships and Innovation, Imran Garba Duba, commended all stakeholders who contributed to the development and launch of the platform, particularly the Cavista team.

Duba described the unveiling as the beginning of a broader opportunity for Nigeria to showcase its cultural assets and harness the economic value of its data.

“D30 will open doors for Nigeria in ways we cannot fathom. Nigeria has so much to show and so much data and we need to work together,” he said.

The D30 Platform is a national data and investment intelligence initiative of the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, developed with Cavista Technologies as its technology partner.

The initiative supports the Ministry’s target of generating $100 billion in GDP contribution and creating three million jobs from the creative and tourism economy by 2030 under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

Through improved access to investment intelligence, industry data and information on infrastructure needs, the government expects D30 to help attract investment, support business expansion and strengthen the contribution of Nigeria’s creative and tourism industries to national economic growth.
