Former champions begin 2026 NBSL Super 4 with victories
The 2026 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) Super 4 Finals got off to an exciting start on Friday, with record winners Kebbi Fishers BSC and 2022 champions Kada BSC both securing victories at the Murtala Muhammed Square in Kaduna.
Kebbi Fishers opened their campaign with a 5-2 victory over Super 4 debutants Niger BSC.
The encounter was evenly contested at 2-2 before the three-time champions stepped up their performance, scoring three unanswered goals to seal the win.
Two-time World Winners Cup campaigners Taiwo Adams and Hassan Abdullahi led Kebbi's charge with two goals each, while captain Ekene Obi added the other.
Hassan Abubakar and Mustapha Olayinka were on target for Niger BSC.
In the second game of the day, Kada BSC defeated Ibom BSC 4-2 to also begin their title campaign on a winning note.
The Kaduna-based side established a commanding 3-0 lead before Ibom BSC fought back through Aliyu Aliyu and Emma Okon to reduce the deficit.
Kada, however, responded with another goal to restore their advantage and eventually secure all three points.
Tanko Emmanuel was the standout performer with a brace, while Dozie Frank and James Mamman scored one goal apiece for the hosts.
Matchday Two will feature another double-header on Saturday, with Kebbi Fishers BSC taking on Ibom BSC before Kada BSC face Niger BSC.
Ahead of the beach soccer fixtures, a women's football invitational tournament involving four teams from Kaduna will also take place.
