Gift Monday: Boston Legacy FC unveils Super Falcons forward after $500,000 move

Boston Legacy FC have officially unveiled Nigeria international Gift Monday following her transfer from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) rivals Washington Spirit.

The Super Falcons striker has signed a five-year contract with Boston Legacy FC and will wear the number 22 shirt at her new club.

Boston Legacy FC announced her arrival on October 6, with reports indicating that the transfer fee was approximately $500,000. The deal reportedly includes a 20 per cent sell-on clause in favour of Washington Spirit.

Monday joined Washington Spirit from Spanish side UD Tenerife in March 2025 and quickly established herself with her attacking performances in the NWSL.

The 24-year-old made headlines in September 2025 when she scored a hat-trick in 35 minutes and 52 seconds against Houston Dash, setting a league record for the fastest hat-trick from kickoff.

She ended her spell with Washington Spirit with 12 goals and three assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.

Before moving abroad, Monday featured for several Nigerian clubs, including COD United Amazons, FC Robo and Bayelsa Queens, where she continued to develop her reputation as a prolific forward.

Her move to Boston Legacy FC marks a new chapter in her career, offering the Super Falcons attacker an opportunity to build on her NWSL experience and further establish herself in American women's football.
