The Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria (GFN) has appointed sports media professional Kuti Oluwadamilare Ismail as its new Media Director and head of the federation’s media department.

The appointment was contained in a letter made available to Savid News, signed by the GFN President, Prince Kelvin Erhunwunse, following a board meeting of the federation.

According to the letter, the appointment was unanimously approved by the GFN Executive Board after an assessment of Ismail’s records, dedication and contributions to the development of sports.

The federation said the new appointment was intended to further encourage Ismail to bring greater dedication to his responsibilities and contribute to the advancement of gymnastics in Nigeria.

The appointment places Ismail at the centre of the federation’s media and communication activities, with responsibility for projecting the activities, programmes and achievements of Nigerian gymnastics to the public and the wider sporting community.

Congratulating him, the GFN President urged the newly appointed Media Director to use the opportunity to contribute to taking Nigerian gymnastics to greater heights.

The letter concluded with the message: “Take Gymnastics to the next Level.”

The appointment also comes with Ismail’s inclusion in the leadership structure of the federation, with the official document bearing the title “Appointment into the Board of GFN/Media Director.”

The GFN is affiliated with the Union Africaine de Gymnastique (UAG) and the Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG), with its secretariat at the MKO Abiola National Stadium Sports Complex in Abuja.

The appointment of Kuti Oluwadamilare Ismail as Media Director and head of the Media Department of the Gymnastics Federation of Nigeria (GFN) has further strengthened his aspirations to contest for the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) in the forthcoming elections scheduled for December.

Ismail, a sports media professional with experience in sports communication and journalism, is expected to leverage his new responsibility at the GFN to further contribute to the visibility and communication of gymnastics within Nigeria’s Olympic sports movement.
