Ikenne to host Super Falcons double-header friendlies against Cape Verde
The Super Falcons are set to play a double-header friendly against Cape Verde in Ikenne, Nigeria, with both matches scheduled for April 15 and 18.
The Nigeria women’s national football team will open camp in Abuja from April 11 before relocating to Ikenne for the fixtures against Cape Verde.
This marks the second meeting between both sides in two years. Their previous encounters came during the qualifiers for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in late 2023, where Nigeria secured a 2–1 away victory before completing a dominant 5–0 win at home.
The upcoming double-header is expected to serve as an important preparatory test for the Super Falcons ahead of future continental assignments. Hosting both matches in Ikenne provides a stable environment for the team to build cohesion, refine tactics, and assess player readiness under competitive conditions.
The fixtures also offer Cape Verde another opportunity to measure their progress against one of Africa’s most successful women’s national teams, while gaining valuable international experience.
The matches further form part of ongoing efforts to enhance international exposure for the Super Falcons as they continue preparations for major competitions on the continental stage.
