Bursaspor coach Mustafa Er says the Turkish TFF 2. Lig club worked hard to sign Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho, describing the 29-year-old as a cost-effective addition expected to deliver goals.

 Speaking about the transfer, Er said Bursaspor specifically targeted Iheanacho for his ability to make an impact in front of goal.

 > “We got Iheanacho for this reason. We worked very hard for this transfer. In this league, everyone thinks we're the ones spending money while others aren't.

 > “A few teams paid higher transfer fees and salaries than what we did for Iheanacho.

 > “We want the same contribution from our other players as well.”

 Iheanacho has started all eight of Bursaspor’s league matches this season and has scored in every game he has featured in.

 The Nigeria international has netted 11 goals and provided two assists during that run, establishing himself as a key figure in Bursaspor’s attack.
