NAF Strikes Terrorist Hideout In Sambisa, Several Insurgents Apprehended
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has intensified aerial operations against terrorist groups in Borno State, carrying out precision strikes on a major hideout within the Sambisa Forest axis.
The operation was conducted by the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI following credible Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) reports.
According to a statement issued by Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information at NAF Headquarters, the strikes targeted identified terrorist hideouts and support structures at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area on Tuesday, May 26, 2026.
Ejodame stated that the coordinated air attacks destroyed key terrorist facilities and neutralised several insurgents operating within the area.
He added that the sustained aerial bombardments had significantly weakened the operational capacity of terrorist elements across the Sambisa axis.
The NAF spokesman further disclosed that the precision offensives have created fear and confusion among insurgent fighters, limiting their movement and denying them safe havens within the forest region.
“Intelligence assessments indicate growing apprehension and disorientation within the ranks of the terrorists as sustained bombardments deny them freedom of movement and safe havens,” Ejodame said.
He also revealed that the operation contributed to the apprehension of several suspected terrorists during ongoing security operations in the area.
The Nigerian Air Force reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with ground troops and other security agencies to sustain pressure on terrorist groups in the North-East.
NAF assured Nigerians that operations under Operation HADIN KAI would continue with the objective of restoring lasting peace and security across the region.
