2027 Polls: Activist Omoyele Sowore Emerges AAC Presidential Candidate, Vows To Defeat Tinubu
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2027 general election.
Sowore was declared winner of the party’s presidential primary held on Tuesday in Abuja after receiving unanimous endorsement from delegates and party leaders at the event.
The AAC presidential flag bearer was subsequently presented with the party’s flag following his emergence as candidate ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Speaking after accepting the nomination, Sowore said the AAC was established with the vision of building a new Nigeria founded on justice, accountability and good governance.
He thanked party delegates and supporters from across the country for their sacrifice, perseverance and continued belief in the ideals of the party.
The former presidential candidate maintained that the AAC remained committed to confronting corruption, insecurity, economic hardship and poor governance affecting Nigerians.
Sowore also criticised the current administration, insisting that the country required a new direction capable of addressing the nation’s social and economic challenges.
The activist-turned-politician expressed confidence that the AAC would provide Nigerians with a credible alternative platform ahead of the next general election.
He further vowed to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential contest with the support of Nigerians.
Sowore has previously contested for the presidency under the AAC platform and remains one of the prominent opposition figures in Nigerian politics.
