NFF tasks Flamingos to target podium finish at FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup

The Acting General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme, has commended the Flamingos for their impressive performance at the WAFU-B U-17 Girls Cup in Côte d’Ivoire, urging the team to carry the same winning mentality to the FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco.

Ikpeme praised the players for their commitment and determination in representing Nigeria at the regional tournament, describing their performance as a reflection of the fighting spirit associated with the country’s youth national teams.

He charged the Flamingos to maintain their momentum and determination as they prepare for the global tournament, while setting their sights on a podium finish.

“Take the same triumphant spirit and determination to Morocco,” Ikpeme told the players, urging them to believe in their ability to compete successfully against the best teams in the world.

Speaking on behalf of the players, Flamingos captain Harmony Chidi assured the NFF and Nigerians that the team would rise to the occasion and remain committed to their responsibility at the World Cup.

Chidi said the players are determined to repay the confidence and trust placed in them by the football federation and the Nigerian people by giving their best on the global stage.

The FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals in Morocco are scheduled to take place from 17 October to 8 November, with the Flamingos aiming to make a strong impression and challenge for a place on the podium.
