NIMC Embarks on First-Ever Nationwide Capacity Building for 3,785 Staff

The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has commenced a historic, first-of-its-kind capacity building programme for all 3,785 of its staff nationwide. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen workforce capacity across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

For the first time since NIMC’s establishment, every staff member—across states, local government areas, and departments—is undergoing training designed to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and professionalism. The programme is being widely celebrated by staff, who have expressed deep appreciation to the Director-General/CEO, Engr. (Dr.) Abisoye Coker-Odusote, for championing the initiative.

Since her assumption of office, Engr. Coker-Odusote has repositioned NIMC with reforms that prioritise staff welfare and operational efficiency. Her leadership has seen the distribution of more than 2,500 enrolment devices, Federal Government approval for a 25–35 percent salary increment, additional transport allowances, free bus services for headquarters staff, and the provision of modern office furniture nationwide.

Staff have lauded her inclusive approach, describing her as a transformational leader who has boosted morale, provided tools for effective work, and created an enabling environment for productivity. They credited her efforts with ushering in a new era of professionalism and commitment within the Commission.

The capacity building exercise is expected to strengthen NIMC’s role in delivering on President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda by building a motivated, well-equipped, and highly skilled workforce.
